CORNISH PIRATES DELIVER TAG RUGBY 19-01-2006

Working with the Penwith Sports Partnership representatives the Cornish Pirates have been supportive this season to help coach 'tag rugby' in the area.

Schools visited have included St. Buryan, St. Just, St. Levan, Sennen and Pendeen Primary School, this forming part of a programme to help develop pupils' skills and also provide expert advice for teachers, it being an experience which all involved have enjoyed.

The climax of the coaching resulted in an U11s Tag Rugby Competition held at Cape Cornwall School last week, which was won by St. Just Primary School. Present at the event to present certificates were Owen Hambly and Adam Nicholls, two young Academy players from the Cornish Pirates who have played both for England Schools and British Colleges.

The teams and players who competed were as follows:-

St. Buryan - Gregory Rowe, Morgan Senior, Thomas Sutton, Leighton Nielsen, Ed Sampson, Stacey Taylor, Robert Doyle, Alex Nixon, Henryn Giles.

St. Just - Daniel Lugg, Ashley Ellis, Fred King, James Kerby, Abbie Robinson, Neil Stanleick, Lucy Brown.

St. Levan - Demi Lee, Tom Ashley, Elle Brolly, Molly Compton-Cashmore, Kyle Holding, Ewan Wallace, Carn Wallace, Beth Perry, Hannah Gendall.

Sennen - Caleb Marsden, Leah Nicholas, Shaun Wood, Loren Webb, Joel Nicholas, Brett Dommett, Fred Ault, Ford Clark.

Pendeen - Ryan Davey, Danielle Howard, Tom Eddy, Tamsin Hitchens, Ruby May, Ed Holmes, Morwenna Charman, Luke Bastiball.

The winning St. Just team :

Fred King, Ashley Ellis, James Kerby, Abbie Robinson, Lucy Brown, Neil Stanleick, Daniel Lugg.

St. Just will now go through to the Penwith stage of a County tournament which will culminate in finals being played later in the year.
