Cornish Pirates

As well as the National One clash between the Cornish Pirates and Otley, a half-time display by 40 Commando Delta Company based at Taunton will be among the highlights on a packed programme of events this Sunday at Kenwyn.

Otley – who beat the Pirates twice last season – will pose testing opposition for Jim McKay’s men. The Yorkshire club ran out 24-13 victors at Cross Green in October, before edging out the Cornish club 20-17 at the Mennaye in February.

The visitors come into the game on the back of a 46-3 victory over London Scottish in the Powergen National Trophy last Saturday, although their last league fixture saw them crash 33-3 at Plymouth Albion.

However, with household names like Simon Binns, Dave Scully and Ian Shuttleworth in their ranks, Otley will once again prove a tough nut to crack this weekend.
