YOUNGSTERS GET CHANCE TO SHINE 19-10-2005

BUDDING rugby stars of the future will be given their chance to show off their skills ahead of the Cornish Pirates next home fixture against Sedgley Park at Kenwyn on October 30.

Ocean MINI Falmouth are increasing their support of mini rugby to encourage more of the county's up-and-coming youngsters to get involved in the sport. Under-9 teams from Penryn, Falmouth Truro and Penzance & Newlyn will be battling it out in a exciting competition, which will act as the perfect curtain-raiser to the day's National One fixture.

Stephen Bentley of Ocean MINI, the only approved dealer in Cornwall , said: "We are delighted to be backing the first mini-tournament organised by the Cornish Pirates at Kenwyn. Mini rugby festivals and tournaments are always hugely popular, not only with the children, but with spectators alike."

Cornish Pirates chief executive David Jenkins added: "We are pleased to be working with Ocean Mini to showcase some of the young players from around the county. Who knows, the next Phil Vickery or Olly Barkley could be on the pitch."

To coincide with this and with half-term, the Pirates are offering a free junior ticket for Under-16s with every adult ticket pre-booked using our ticket hotline 0870 066 3125, by Wednesday October 26.
