JIM McKay's Cornish Pirates will kick-off their
new season with an away trip to newly-promoted Doncaster on Saturday, September
3.
The ambitious Yorkshire outfit, who are coached by one-time
Pirates target Pieter Muller, secured the National Two title last season winning
23 of their 26 league games.
Like McKay, South African international
Muller has enjoyed a busy summer of recruitment, including landing former Pirates
pair Ryan Peacey and Duncan Murray to his ranks.
They are two of
12 newcomers Doncaster have made ahead of their first-ever season in National
One. Other new faces include Jon Benson, Glen Kenworthy and Michael Wood (all
from Rotherham), Llyr Lane (Coventry), Joe Van De Berg (Nottingham) and Luke Nabaro
from Bristol.
McKay himself has been adding a host of new players
to his squad, Duncan Roke, Joe Beardshaw, Richard Welding, Shaun James, Paul Jones
and Dan Parkes are all new arrivals in the Duchy.
