NOTTINGHAM DEFEAT/ 21-02-2006

Story ImageAfter such a great performance we travelled in high spirits to Nottingham in the hope of a repeat of the Bedford result.

As we know the result went against us and after the chances we created in the first half, we only had ourselves to blame in allowing Nottingham back into the game.

Their injury time penalty winner was a really hard to take, but unless you turn pressure into points, these things happen and we must learn very quickly that we need to finish teams off.

The other bad news was the injury to Iva Motusaga who has a bad shoulder injury and we are awaiting further medical reports before we are fully aware of the long term implications of this injury. We wish him well and hope he will be back soon as possible.

Congratulations go to Rhodri Mcatee as he has been selected for the Welsh squad to play in the Commonwealth Games being held in Melbourne in March, also participating are Ben Ayimba and Oscar Osir who will be representing Kenya, so best wishes to you guys and hope you have a fantastic time !

All three will then play in the Hong Kong sevens tournament and the will be invaluable experience for all of them.

No game this week, so it’s a big training week, then a free weekend for the boys and then back into it with the home game against Pertemp Bees and hopefully back to a good performance.

Adrian Edwards.
