Pirate Judges For 'Vitalise' Friday 6th July 2007
services for disabled people

Friday 6th. July, 2007

A Cornish Pirate came to the aid of 'Vitalise Churchtown' last week, a centre that provides essential services for disabled people.

Adrian Edwards, team manager of Cornwall's leading rugby side, took time out from making arrangements for the team's pre-season friendlies against Leicester Tigers and Gwent Dragons to act as a judge of the centre's free holiday offer.

The offer was open to young people with disabilities, who could be nominated by family, friends, teachers, classmates and others for the chance to win a week's all-inclusive free holiday at Vitalise Churchtown in Lanlivery.

Adrian helped select the winner, who will be announced soon and will join other young people for a fun-filled week of activities at the centre during August.

After a tour of Vitalise Churchtown , Adrian enthused: "It's absolutely amazing. I didn't realise this place was here, it a fantastic facility that provides lots of opportunities to numerous people. Adults and children can come here and take part in activities they might not normally have access to - zip wires, climbing walls and activity trails which are all accessible for wheelchairs.

The staff here are all really enthusiastic and the winner of this holiday is going to have a fantastic time!"

Before leaving, Adrian also presented a Cornish Pirates rugby shirt and ball to Vitalise Churchtown manager Gabbie Robinson.
