Pre Season Friendlies Update

Sat 12th. August – Cornish Pirates v Ebbw Vale and Launceston
At the Mennaye Field, Penzance - Kick off 5pm

Admission £5 for adults and £1 for children
Season ticket holders admitted free.

And so we start a new season, all of us having fresh hopes and aspirations. spacer
These friendly matches are of importance and a warm welcome is extended to all involved.

Both Launceston (the Cornish All Blacks) and Ebbw Vale are well known to us, and best wishes are expressed to them both for their respective 2006-07 campaigns.

Pirates v Launceston,
Pirates v Ebbw Vale, and
Ebbw Vale v Launceston,
3 x 40 minute matches
10-15 minutes between each.

Launceston, though not at full strength (nor are the Pirates with a number of players carrying niggling injuries), will clearly be looking to push for promotion in National 2

Ebbw Vale are gearing up for a competitive Principality Building Society Premiership campaign.

Ebbw Vale, Coached by Alex Codling, a former England lock, bring a strong squad that includes a number of experienced performers - including Bryan Shelbourne who broke our hearts when snatching an injury-time, match-winning try here for Plymouth Albion in 2004.

For a few the close season has been a hectic time, and some deserve special praise, it is hoped to highlight them in forthcoming notes.
