World Cup Coming to the Cornish Pirates
 

The Cornish Pirates are delighted to announce that we have been chosen by the RFU to host the Rugby World Cup as it starts its final trip around England before the 2007 tournament in France.

The trophy will be the guest of honour from 10am till midday at a schools festival at the Mennaye on Monday 16th July, which is being held as part of the EDF Energy Schools Rugby Programme.

All the schools who attend will have their photo taken with the trophy, and some of the Cornish Pirates players who will be at the festival, following on from the In School Rugby Coaching that they have done with the participating schools as part of the same scheme.

In addition, the Cornish Pirates will be inviting all other schools in the area to come along and have their photo taken with the World Cup, in which former Penzance & Newlyn RFC and England legend John Kendall Carpenter was heavily involved in the creation of.
