Doncaster
v Cornish Pirates - EDF Energy National Trophy 6th Round Draw Saturday
3rd March - Kick Off 2.30pm
"BRING it on," was the reaction
of Cornish Pirates coach Jim McKay after his side were handed another away-day
draw in this season's EDF Energy National Trophy. Having
defeated Leeds Tykes 18-17 at Headingley on Friday to book their place in the
quarter-finals, the Pirates will be heading for Yorkshire again, this time to
face Doncaster at Castle Park on Saturday, March 3. | McKay
said of yesterday's draw: "It will be a good test for us and another test
of our character, but bring it on.
"Doncaster
are a very good side, especially at home, and it will be tough up there. However,
we showed at Leeds that we can produce big results away from home. "The
draw is totally out of control at the end of the day. In the last round we could
have beaten a side that was lower in the leagues than us, but instead we beat
Leeds away. "That was certainly a big
win for us and one that was perhaps pivotal in our development as a club. The
character we showed in coming back was not just created that night, that has taken
a while to develop and we need to build on that." | | Coach

Meanwhile, Plymouth Albion's
reward for their 37-8 victory over Cambridge on Saturday is a home tie with either
Coventry or Nottingham, while Exeter Chiefs will play host to Lydney if they can
overcome Bedford Blues this weekend. Exeter's game last
Saturday was postponed after heavy snow fell on Bedford's Goldington Road ground. The
remaining tie of the round sees Newbury play host to the winners of the Pertemps
Bees versus Nuneaton clash. Edf Energy National Trophy
