Pirates in Canada Squad Stan McKeen Named In Churchill Cup Squad Stan McKeen from the Cornish Pirates has been selected for Canada's squad to compete in the forthcoming Barclays Churchill Cup competition. Canada play Ireland A at Exeter on Saturday 19th. May and the New Zealand Maori at Franklins Gardens in Northampton on Friday 25th. May. All six teams in the competition (England Saxons, Scotland A, Ireland A. New Zealand Maori, USA and Canada) play at Twickenham on Finals Day on Saturday 2nd. The pool stages will be held at 5 venues with Finals Day hosting all six teams at Twickenham. The New Zealand Maori have not played at Twickenham since 1926. The tournament showcases future stars of the game, players such as England's Mathew Tait, Scotland's Rory Lawson and All Black Jono Gibbes have all featured in recent years Also named in the squad is Pirates new Canadian scrum half Ed Fairhurst Stan has recently visited Penair School at Truro to meet some of the Under 15 pupils who will be going on tour to Vancouver at Whitsun. He gave a talk during a fund-raising event, which was much appreciated by the boys present.
