Steadily
building up their squad for the 2007-08 season, the latest two players named to
join the Cornish Pirates are fly-half/full-back Ollie Thomas and Kiwi hooker Nathan
Kemp. Ollie Thomas is the son of former Moseley wing Alan Thomas, the
23-year-old a product of the Midlands side's junior section. Moseley's 'Player
of the Season' in 2003 and 'Supporters Player of the Season' in 2005, Ollie has
broken a number of the club's all time scoring records in the past few years. Despite
Moseley finishing fourteenth in National One this season, narrowly avoiding relegation,
he still ended up third in the league's top points scoring list. In total he notched
up an impressive 287 points, including a club record 28 points for Moseley in
a recent 38-32 win against Nottingham. Ollie is looking forward to the
challenge, stating "I am excited at this opportunity to help both the
Pirates and myself to progress, and will work hard to give my all."
