During the last week Cornish Pirates prop Sam Heard, on behalf of the club, presented a £200 cheque to Pirates' supporters Peter and Alison Maddern.
The couple have recently returned home to Penzance after completing a charity bike ride undertaken for the benefit of Children's Hospice South West's 'Precious Lives Appeal'.
Peter had cycled from Land's End to John O 'Groats, with Alison joining him for the return journey.
Both retired teachers, Peter set off from Land's End on May 20 and cycled all the way to John O'Groats, where Alison joined him for the 1,250-mile return journey.
They arrived back at Land's End on July 2, having met many lovely, generous and helpful people along the way.
Commenting on The Pirates support, Peter Maddern said:
"As
a supporter of the Cornish Pirates, who have already raised a considerable amount
of money for the charity themselves, I am extremely grateful for their donation."

Their original hope was to raise £2,500 for the Precious Lives Appeal, which the Pirates helped to launch last year, but it is expected that the final figure raised will be in excess of £3,000.
