Pirates Support Clic Sargent & Young Jack In 'Mo-Vember'

In what is now generally recognised as being the moustache growing month of Mo-vember, the Cornish Pirates have this year decided to help to raise awareness and respond positively in support of CLIC Sargent, which is the UK's leading children's charity

Every day 10 families are told the devastating news that their child has cancer, and CLIC Sargent is the only charity offering them care and support 'every step of the way' - during treatment, in hospital & at home, and after treatment.

Many of us will have heard of CLIC Sargent, but few will be aware of the vitally important role that the charity plays.

This, however, is not the case for the family of Cornish Pirates hooker Darren Dawidiuk, as Darren's younger brother, Jack Mylam, aged eight, has a brain tumour and is presently receiving radiotherapy treatment.

Jack's situation has certainly made the Cornish Pirates more 'aware' of the excellent work that CLIC Sargent undertake, and because of this a collection was held in aid of the charity when the Pirates played Sedgley Park at home last Sunday.

Cornish Pirates players and CLIC Sargent volunteers collected the magnificent sum of £640-01 for the charity, with thanks expressed to all who contributed.
