Press Pack Competition

October 2007

The Cornish Pirates Learning Zone are looking to build on the success of the National Literacy Trusts Reading Champion programme by launching a writing competition for Cornish school children.

All school children have to do to be involved is write a report on a match they have watched.

CPLZ Centre Manager Kevin Jackson is hoping that this programme will be a big success in engaging Cornish youngsters into writing.

Kevin said "The Press Pack competition is designed to make writing more interesting and relevant for kids, and we hope that this scheme will, as the Reading Champion Scheme did. With the schools being able to bring pre organised trips for free to games, we think it will be"

To help back this new scheme, the Cornish Pirates are offering free tickets to school groups that organise a trip to a Cornish Pirates home game.
