| Cornish Pirates
v Northampton Saints
Sunday September 9th Kick
Off 3:00pm |
As
expected, Northampton Saints have named three former 'All Blacks' in their starting
line-up for this Sunday's eagerly awaited National 1 clash at the Recreation Ground,
Camborne. Skipper Bruce Reihana will wear the number
15 shirt, whilst Carlos Spencer is selected at outside centre and Mark Robinson
at scrum-half. Robinson 's half-back partner will be former London Irish fly-half
Barry Everitt, a prolific points scorer. |
For the
Cornish Pirates there is just the one change from the XV that started at Launceston,
Sam Heard replacing Dan Seal in the tight-head prop berth. On the bench there
are places for loose-head prop Alan Paver, hooker Nathan Kemp, and centre Steve
Winn, who have all recovered from injury. Saints
director of rugby Jim Mallinder expects a tough challenge from the Pirates
This Sunday will be a real test for how far we have come as a squad,
he says.
The Pirates are a strong outfit at home and only lost there
once last season. Theyve got some strong ball-carrying forwards, dangerous
backs and ambition to be at the top of the league come the end of the season.
That is a powerful combination and we will have to be at the very top of
our game on Sunday to come away with the points." Iif possible
tickets should be purchased in advance
as a sell-out crowd is expected Please Be Early
The
annual Martin Jennings Memorial Motorcycle Ride will be taking place along the
roads of Cornwall on Sunday - this will be the twentieth year of the event, which
will see as many as 1,000 bikers heading west to Camborne in the afternoon. Supporters
should arrive extra early to avoid the predicted congestion. Full
