Pirates About To Welcome 50,000th Supporter At Sunday's Local Derby

50,000 Expected Through The Gates
01/04/08

As the Pirates continue to break new ground, for the first season ever, we expect to welcome the 50,000th supporter through the gates at this Sunday's local derby with Plymouth Albion.

The Pirates need a crowd of 4,215 to break the 50,000 supporter total, and with nearly 4,000 tickets already sold for Sunday's big game, someone buying tickets on Thursday or Friday is likely to help the club reach the landmark figure.

The person that buys the 50,000th ticket will be invited on to the pitch at half time for an official presentation, where they will be receive a signed shirt donated by Whirlwind Sports

50,000 fans

Cornish Pirates Marketing Manager Rob McEvoy said:
"I am delighted that we will manage to get 50,000 supporters through the gate this season, especially as there is still one more game after Sunday's still to go. We have been working hard to build our supporter base, with initiatives such as 'Kids Go Free' aligned to the exciting rugby we have played"

All Pirates home and away shirts will be priced at £29.99 each on the day - £15 cheaper than normal - as the club try to make their Devon rivals aware of the old rivalry between the Duchy & Devon.

Despite large ticket sales, tickets will still be available on the day.

With the Pirates scoring 25 tries in their last 3 home games, its the place to be on Sunday.

Tickets available on-line or usual outlets
