The
Cornish Pirates are looking to increase what is an already good season by attracting
even more families to the Camborne Recreation ground, and have announced that
the new East Stand will now be designated as a 'Family Stand', and will be included
in the "Kids Go Free" offer It
is hoped that this, combined with the Rugby Fever created by England's success
in the Rugby World Cup will boost the crowds even further. Already this season,
Pirates crowds are up by over 30%, at a time when crowds for the Premiership are
down by an average 29%. Marketing Manager at the
Pirates, Rob McEvoy said: "The passion for
rugby in Cornwall is amazing, and to see big crowd increases now is testament
to the hard work done in the past few years at the club. I am confident that if
people come and watch the Pirates for the first time, they will be hooked by the
great rugby, fantastic family atmosphere and fun they have. With the extended
'Kids Go Free' offer, we hope even more Cornish rugby lovers will come along and
see for themselves" This Sunday the Cornish
Pirates play Bedford Blues at home, the match kicking off at 3p.m. For
