Flava
On ITV's 'Britain's Got Talent' 19th May 2008
Anyone
watching ITV's 'Britain's Got Talent' programme this past weekend will have been
mightily impressed by the Penzance based dance group 'Flava', whose robotic and
stylish routine ended with an explosive finish that demanded applause.
The
plaudits bestowed upon the seven hoody-clad youngsters by judges Piers Morgan,
Amanda Holden and Simon Cowell were just about as good as you could get, with
the whole of Cornwall now hoping that they will progress to perform at the Royal
Variety Show.
Supporters of the Cornish Pirates will remember
that younger members of 'Flava' entertained when we played the Cornish All Blacks
at Camborne last December, and we also had a collection for them at our game against
Esher in February when they were raising much needed funds to help send a 32 of
their dancers to masterclasses in Los Angeles.
Interestingly,
Cornish Pirates community sponsor 'Speedy
Hire', supports not just rugby, but also dancing, with coach dancing lined
up to take part in 20 Cornish Primary Schools a year. Top dancers, like our rugby
players, are fine role models for Cornish children looking to be involved in something
rewardingly worthwhile
'Flava' were choreographed by Fiona Richardson who
is commended for the work she has done for the benefit of so many youngsters.
