Both Cornish Pirates and Northampton Saints came through their opening league
games last Saturday & all in the Duchy will be looking forward to the former
Heineken Cup winners marching into Cornwall to play the Pirates at Camborne this
Sunday. Whilst the Cornish Pirates recorded a 26-12 points win away
against the Cornish All Blacks, the Saints entertained London Welsh at Franklin's
Gardens in front of an amazing 11,507 supporters, winning the contest 44-11. Included
in the Saints line-up were former New Zealand 'All Blacks' Carlos Spencer, Mark
Robinson and skipper Bruce Reihana , the latter crossing the line for two of their
six tries scored in the match, and all are expected in Cornwall this weekend. The
record crowds look set to continue, with over 5000 tickets already sold for Sunday,
including a large traveling support from the East Midlands. The
Cornish Pirates are encouraging fans to use the new ticket facilities, with on-line
and telephone bookings being taken non
stop since Saturday, the club are urging spectators to make sure they get their
ticket, although tickets might still be available on the day due to the much increased
7000 capacity. |
