A New Zealander, Nick was educated at Kelston Boys High School, West Auckland, an educational establishment that has produced many fine rugby players, including 'All Black' Mils Muliana.

Both Nick, an inside centre, and Mils also played for New Zealand Schools U19s team along with other famous names such as Jerry Collins and Aaron Mauger.

Having played provincial age-grade rugby from U14s at all levels for Auckland, working his way through the Auckland B team into their National Provincial Championship (NPC) side at the end of the 2004 season, Nick then moved to Manawatu, playing in the NPC as well, and also appearing for them off the bench against the British Lions in 2005.

A former playing colleague of Nick's is Tim Cowley, who describes him as "a gifted, fearless and tough competitor, someone that'll be an asset to the team." Both represented Auckland 'Blues' Colts under the guidance of Wayne 'Buck' Shelford, the pair then playing two seasons together at Silverdale.

Attending Auckland University, Nick left with a BA in History & Education (a double major), was a youth worker in schools for a year, and has also been a full-time Rugby Development Officer (RDO) with Manawatu.

Unfortunately suffering a long-term injury, as part of his recuperation he had a spell playing for College Old Boys, a top club side in Manawatu, Moseley then signing him in the autumn of 2006 as a quality player to strengthen their backline.

Joining us from Moseley in 2007, Nick now lives at Heamoor, Penzance, where he enjoys living in Cornwall with Davinia and their two children, Nico and Kilisi.

One other 'new' signing who arrived in Cornwall at the same time as Nick was hooker Nathan Kemp, the pair of them having been in a number of the same various representative sides from the age of 15.
