The baby in the Cornish Pirates squad, Scott is another player with enormous potential to do well in the game.

Having attended Ludgvan Primary School, the village a junior soccer hotbed in Penwith, it is perhaps no surprise that Scott didn't start playing rugby until he was 11. By then he had moved on to St. Ives School, the Lelant boy soon joining Hayle and playing for them from the age of 11 to 17.

Whilst at the 'Lions' he was under the watchful eye of Tony Cook, a lock capped 102 times for Cornwall, him then moving just a few miles up the A30 to Redruth where he made his debut in the Powergen Cup against Exeter Chiefs. Now at Truro College, and a member of the South West of England Rugby Academy (SWERA), his mentor was former England prop forward Robin Cowling.

Scott played for Cornwall twice in the 2005-06 County Championship, having previously played for the county at U15 and U16 levels, and made a mighty impression in the match played against a strong Devon side at Redruth. Cornwall lost 22-15, but he cleaned up the line-out and certainly made his presence felt about the pitch.

He had played for England U18s and then the U19s side, making his debut in a Six Nations match played in Rome in 2006. In 2007 he again represented England U19s, this time in the World Championships played in Belfast. A highlight was starting the quarter-final match against New Zealand, the English team putting up a brave performance against baby 'All Blacks' team that beat South Africa in the final.

Scott, who has something of a 'John Eales' about him, and is certainly someone to emulate, also made six appearances as a replacement for the Pirates during the 2006-07 season, which is a figure that he'll now be looking to build upon.
