| Pirates Host School Tag Rugby Festivals |
24/04/07 The Penwith Sports Partnership organised and co-ordinated the Penzance Small & Large Schools Family Tag Rugby Festivals held at the Mennaye Field (Pirates rugby ground) on Tuesday 24th. April, The events forming part of a national structured competition supported by the Police and their charity 'Child Victims of Crime'. In the Large Schools category Newlyn emerged winners, with Trythall victorious in the Small Schools group. Certificates to all players who participated were presented by Mark Hewitt, a coach at the Pirates. Newlyn and Trythall Schools will now, with respective runners-up Heamoor and St. Mary's C. of E., compete in the West Cornwall Finals to be held at Redruth RFC on the 13th. June. |
