| EDF Energy National Schools Rugby Programme 2008/09 |
Cornish Pirates & Grassroots Rugby The Cornish Pirates were one of 3 non Premiership clubs to be partners in the EDF Energy National Schools Rugby Programme. This scheme encouraged the development of grassroots rugby, by providing coaching to school children from the Cornish Pirates. The 30 schools that take part in the scheme receive a 5 week Introduction to Rugby course, which is followed by a rugby tournament at a local rugby club. In 2009 we worked with schools in Camborne, Pool, Redruth, Falmouth and of course, Penzance
