Pirates Looking To Further Impress

Cornish Pirates V Moseley

Sunday 26th October
Kick Off 2:30pm

Moseley

Following a morale boosting performance away to Doncaster, it was always likely that the Cornish Pirates squad named for this Sunday's home match against Moseley (ko 2.30pm) would show precious few changes.

Of the '22' players that featured last weekend, there are just a couple of changes to note. Scrum-half Nicky Griffiths has impressed with all opportunities given, and he takes over the number nine shirt from Ed Fairhurst, who is named on the bench. Mark Ireland also joins the squad as a replacement, and this because utility back Jimmy Moore injured a foot at 'Donny'.

Visitors 'Mose' are skippered by scrum-half Gareth Taylor, whose partner at fly-half will be Richard Vasey, a close season signing from Leeds Carnegie. He is presently the club's leading points scorer.

Full-back/centre Andy Binns is still an evergreen performer, having now made over 260 appearances in Moseley's colours, whilst players out wide the calibre of wing Nathan Bressington can always cause damage. Up front,

Moseley have once again acquired the services of prop Terry Sigley, who has played in the Premiership and returns to the club for a third time, and former Plymouth Albion prop George Davis is named on the bench. Ali Muldowney, who was Stourbridge's 'Player of the Season' last year, partners Richard Stott at lock, and No. 8 James Rodwell is an able competitor in a useful back-row.
