EDF Energy National Trophy Round 5

Nottingham V Cornish Pirates

Sunday 15th February
Kick Off 2pm

 Nottingham

Following last weekend's postponement, the rescheduled tie away to Nottingham in Round 5 of the EDF Energy National Trophy will now take place at Meadow Lane this Sunday.

A tough and close encounter is almost guaranteed against the 'Green & Whites', who could well welcome back Kiwi centre and vice-captain Tim Molenaar from injury.

For the Pirates, the injury list has improved, but they still go into this match without hooker Rob Elloway, scrum-half Nick Griffiths, centre Tom Luke, and wing Brian Tuohy. Also missing is Rhodri McAtee, who is away on Wales Sevens duty.

Darren Dawidiuk, who has grown further in maturity this season making 10 'starts', will wear the number 2 shirt, whilst in the outsides fellow Cornishman Adryan Winnan is set to return to playing action on the wing.

The bench is a strong one, with prop Alan Paver and lock Mike Burak named among the replacements.

Also listed is former hooker Wayne Davey, who not only impressed for the club in two 'Super Cup' matches last autumn, but also against Southend in the last round of the EDF Energy National Trophy competition.

Cornish Pirates:
M. Vakacegu, A. Winnan, M. Ireland, S. Winn, P. Devlin
R. Jones, E. Fairhurst, M. Evans, C. Morgan, B. Cowan,
B. Gulliver (capt), H. Senekal, S. Heard, D. Dawidiuk, P. Cook.

Replacements:
W. Davey, S. Franklin, A. Paver, M. Burak, I. Motusaga, J. Moore, S. Whatling.

The winners will play Mounts Bay away in the quarter-finals, scheduled to take place on Saturday 28th February.
