| Rhodri & Rhys Score For The Baa-Baas |
Barbarians
33 Combined Services 14 Report Phil Westren Cornish Pirates winger Rhodri McAtee scored one the Barbarians five tries notched up in this Remembrance Match played at the Brickfields on Tuesday night. It was also a try that was converted by fellow 'Pirate' Rhys Jones who had in the opening minutes added the extras to the first try of the game scored by Portuguese international Vasco Uva. Rhys had to leave the field two minutes before the break, and Rhodri was replaced at half-time when the score was 14-all. Full-back Dougie Flockhart, who has played for Scotland 'A' and will be in opposition to Rhodri and Rhys when the Pirates play at Esher on Saturday, also did well, and capped a fine performance by scoring two tries in the match. Young Richard Bolt, who was in the Cornish Pirates squad last season, but who has since returned to Exeter Chiefs, was a replacement scrum-half for the Barbarians, and the Combined Services side was captained by former 'Pirate' Dave Pascoe, who has also played for Penryn and Redruth.
