23rd November 2008 A 'Ladies Day' proved a big hit
when the Cornish Pirates played Sedgley Park at the Recreation Ground, Camborne,
on Sunday.
At
an event organised by Dania Shaw, the club's Marketing & events Co-ordinator,
90 ladies attended a pre-match hospitality dinner in the clubhouse, where a player
was present at each table. Elizabeth Stewart, who is a
keen supporters of the Cornish Pirates, spoke for all the ladies when she said
"It was a really successful event all round - particularly being served
pink champagne by the players!" Copies of the Cornish
Pirates 2009 Calendar also sold well on the day, it following the official
'launch' at Asda Penryn on Friday when 250 calendars were snapped up by members
of the public. Players happily signed copies on request, a further such event
will take place at the store on Friday 19th December. The
calendar is clearly one that is a must for all ladies to have on their Christmas
present list, they are available from Asda Penryn, Whirlwind Sports, Rugby Tackle,
and the Pirates clubhouse in Penzance. Also Buy
Online From Whirlwind Sports For further details
