Pete Goss And The 'Mystery'

'Spirit of Mystery' Launch
17th June 2008

World famous yachtsman Pete Goss, MBE, has built the 'Spirit of the Mystery' to celebrate an amazing achievement that took place 153 years ago when the Newlyn built Mounts Bay lugger 'Mystery' sailed on an heroic voyage from Newlyn to Melbourne, Australia.

The 'Spirit of Mystery' will be launched at Millbrook this coming Saturday 21st June, at which there is an open invitation as all would be made welcome.

The lugger and Pete will also appear at the Newlyn Fish Festival in August, and will then be sailed by Pete from Newlyn in October on a re-enactment of the voyage to Australia.

Pete is a Trustee of 'Cornwall Playing for Success', which has direct links with the Cornish Pirates Learning Zone.

CPLZ Manager Kevin Jackson, photographer and assistant Brian Tempest, along with others, will be attending Saturday's launch.
