Pirates Launch 'Pirate Trust' Charity Shirt

The Cornish Pirates have this week launched a new purple and yellow rugby shirt, which the players will wear as a one off for the last game of the season to help raise funds for the Pirate Trust, official charity of Pirate FM.

The Samurai produced shirt features palm trees, waves, a surfboard and the Pirate FM Feather Motif, and will be worn on Saturday 25th April when the Cornish Pirates play London Welsh at Camborne (ko 3pm). Anyone interested can see what it looks like in the windows of Whirlwind Sports in Truro, Penzance, Camborne & Helston.

To raise money for the Pirate Trust, the shirts will be auctioned before the match via an on-line auction, Pirate FM will be holding a bucket collection on the day, and they will also be running 'text to win' competitions on air in the weeks running up to the event.

Bob McCreadie, Programme Director for Pirate FM said:

"It is fantastic that the Cornish Pirates have chosen to wear the colours of the Pirate Trust and support the charity. We want as many of our listeners as possible to get along to the game and give some money to the cause."

Adryan Winnan, Club Captain of the Cornish Pirates was also excited, though a little concerned as to what he would look like. He commented:

"As a Cornishman, I'm delighted that the club are working with a cause that helps local people. I might have to look a little stupid to do it, but if more people come along and support us, it will help us and the Pirate Trust. We certainly won't miss each other."

To help boost the crowd, the Cornish Pirates will be offering special price family tickets so that more people can come and watch the game, and enjoy a fantastic end of season party in Camborne.

Also, all who book a ticket in advance through the Cornish Pirates Ticket Office will be placed in raffle to win one of the shirts.
