Additionally,
there will be a Fish Cookery Demonstration, a display from the Old Camborne Society,
and of course the Falmouth Marine Band leading a Giant Pasty over the posts. Kevin
Lavery, new Chief Executive of Cornwall County Council said "I
am extremely honoured to have been invited to take part in the first ever St Piran's
Festival which provides an exciting opportunity to celebrate both the county's
proud heritage and its love of rugby. The aim of the Festival is
to celebrate everything that is good about Cornwall and I am looking forward to
tasting Cornish food and drink and enjoying music from local bands during the
Giant Pasty Parade before cheering on the Pirates as they take on National Division
1 rivals Bedford Blues. This looks like being a very special day
in the county's calendar and I am delighted to be joining thousands of other Cornish
rugby fans as they enjoy the fun of the festival and cheer their team to victory".
