Cornish Pirates have launched a special limited edition "traditional" rugby shirt in response to requests from supporters.

The shirt, which is made of heavyweight cotton, with long sleeves and a traditional collar is seen here being modelled by Pirates prop Alan Paver.

The black, red and white design features the Cornish Pirates badge, as well as some additional Cornish features, and is expected to be extremely popular.

Paul Billing from Whirlwind Sports said:

"At the Season Ticket Holders Summer Kit Launch, we spoke to supporters and had some requests asking for more traditionally designed long sleeved rugby shirts which were also part of the official Samurai Pirates range.

We spoke to Samurai and decided to give it a go, and after design and production, we have them in the shops in time for Christmas.

If this limited edition proves popular, I am sure that this shirt could become a regular item in the Cornish Pirates Samurai clothing range"
