England
may have been crowned champions after beating New Zealand 19-17 in the final of
the IRB Sevens tournament played in Wellington last week, but they weren't the
only side to down the mighty All Blacks. On
Friday at the Westpac Stadium, Cornish Pirates player Rhodri McAtee had starred
for Wales, scoring two tries in a deserved 28-17 group match win against the host
country.
Wales ultimately emerged runners up to South Africa
in the plate final of the tournament, with their focus now on the fourth leg of
the IRB Sevens series which takes place in San Diego on the 14-15th February. |
