Penwith Sports Partnership recently ran their postponed winter games using facilities at the Astro Park and Penzance Leisure Centre.

The sports played included basketball, ultimate frisbee and dance, plus also rugby which was run by RFU Community Sports Coach Phil Morris and Cornish Pirates Community Development Officer Mike Crump.

Following their attendance at the opening of Penzance 'Farmers Market', players Jimmy Moore and Marika Vakacegu, along with staff member Phil Westren, visited Pensans School to meet up with fellow Pirates Paul Andrew and Dan Seal.

The purpose of attending the School was to raise its profile and support efforts to raise money for the Precious Lives Appeal and purchase a wider variety of library books for the school's children.

Iva Motusaga  

Without hesitation, as if living up to his 'The Jet' nickname, Cornish Pirates flanker Iva Motusaga immediately responded to present badges at St. Hilary School this week.

The school's motto is 'The Best I Can Be', and the badge system fits in to enhance this, as those children who try their best in all areas of the curriculum are rewarded with the school badges.

'Artist Experience  

Having recently completed an 'Artist Experience' 10-week programme designed to give young students a taste of life as a commercial artist in West Cornwall, their impressive work has this week been on display at the Mariners Gallery, St. Ives.

The course was set up through the Cornish Pirates Learning Zone, with tuition provided by local artist Clive Williams.
