The Herald reports, “Ed Lewsey will make his first Championship start at scrum-half for Plymouth Albion tonight when the Cornish Pirates visit Brickfields this evening (7.45pm).

Lewsey has started two British & Irish Cup games at nine since re-joining Albion from Launceston in January, but his only previous start in a league or play-off match came on the wing against London Welsh when Ben Mercer was injured.

But he is given his chance in his favourite position this evening with Irishman Ruairi Cushion dropping down to the bench as Albion make three personnel changes to their side that lost 38-7 to Bristol last week for tonight's Sky Sports-televised clash.

The other two changes see Matt Hopper return to the starting line-up in place of Gary Kingdom and Wayne Sprangle replacing Darren Clayton. Hopper's return sees Tongan Sione Tu'ipulotu move from centre to full-back.”

POOL B

London Welsh v Exeter Chiefs

Exeter Chiefs' influential flanker Chad Slade will start against London Welsh tomorrow at Esher RFC after missing two games with an injury.

The Samoan international will replace Tom Johnson in the starting line-up. Meanwhile on the bench, hooker Saul Nelson has come in for Simon Alcott, who suffered an ankle injury last weekend, and Paul McKenzie has been rewarded for his hat-trick against United on Monday night

Head coach Rob Baxter said: "It's great to have Chad back. We have been a bit cautious with him, but now we have got him back at 100 per cent. It's pretty tough on Tom Johnson. He played exceptionally well for us. He is very, very valuable to this squad and the impact he can make off the bench can be a deciding factor in a game."

Slade said: "It's good to be back. It's always hard to be out when the team is playing well and for the last two weeks, they have been awesome. The boys played really well last weekend and we put 50 points on Doncaster, but there are still a few things to correct."

Tomorrow's game is another crucial fixture with Exeter Chiefs able to secure a semi-final place if they come away from The Rugby Ground with a win. London Welsh will, however, want to stay in contention for the final four

Baxter added: "If last weekend was a good performance for us, then London Welsh going to Nottingham and winning was huge as well. We now meet head on."

POOL C

Rotherham Titans v Moseley

Moseley will have to dig deep at Clifton Lane if they are to overturn the unbeaten Titans and try and lift themselves from the relegation spot in Pool C.

The Billesley Common side have been thoroughly disappointing in the Play-Offs to date and after losing 6-3 at Coventry last time out only have three more matches to preserve their Championship status.

Rotherham won 30-29 when they met in the Midlands three weeks ago but a glimmer of hope for Moseley is that their final two matches are both to be played at home against Coventry and the Bees.

Moseley have named the following side for tomorrow`s trip to Yorkshire:-

Forwards - Nathan Williams/ Adam Caves/ Rupert Harden/ Ally Muldowney/ Richard Stott/ Neil Mason/ Chevvy Pennycook/ James Rodwel

Backs - Waylan Gasson/ Tristan Roberts/ Justin Mensah-Coker/ Andy Reay/ Callum Macburnie/ Rob Thirlby/ Nathan Bressington

Reps - George Davis/ Dan Oselton/ Andy Hall/ Ryan Wilson/ Gareth Taylor/ Bryn Keys/ Mike Gillick

Rotherham have yet to confirm their team for the game but have announced that full-back/fly-half Mike Whitehead will play his final Home game in Titans colours tomorrow before leaving the club at the end of the season.
