Glenn Delaney has further strengthened his Championship squad this week with Ed Slater re-signing ahead of next season.

The 21-year-old back row man made his Nottingham debut off the replacements bench in their 37-20 drubbing of Coventry at Meadow Lane in March.

But his first start came in the most memorable match of the season as Nottingham dominated a one-dimensional Exeter Chiefs side in their play-off opener.

Slater was quick to impress, scoring two tries on the road during the Green & Whites play-off campaign and Delaney is pleased to have him on board again.

He said: "Ed impressed me when he joined us for the play-offs and we look forward to him playing a large part for us this coming season.

"He has the ability to play lock, 6 or 8 and provides good go forward with ball in hand. His recent efforts have proven he is a player with a great future."

Spanish international full back Cesar Sempere Padilla has this week penned a deal to join Nottingham Rugby for the 2010/11 Championship season.

One of Spanish rugby's most impressive talents, Sempere also boasts experience at fly half and is sure to excite in the Championship next season.

The 26-year-old goal kicker joins Nottingham after a short spell with French top 14 side Montpellier and will bring with him the experience of 33 full international caps.

Green & Whites Director of Rugby Glenn Delaney is delighted to have secured the services of this long term target.

He said: "Cesar is a very impressive player and someone we have known about for some time, he will greatly add to our attacking capabilities for next season.

"He will provide depth and competition at full back which we have needed for a couple of seasons now.

"I think he will fit with our attacking ethos and I am sure will be taken to heart by our fantastic supporters."

Sempere will join up with the squad for pre-season training later this month.

Doncaster Knights

Doncaster Knights Director of Rugby is delighted to have secured the services of former Coventry scrum half Nathan Jones for the coming season.

Howells said that he had been interested in Jones since his first year with the Knights when he had an outstanding performance against his side just after he joined the Doncaster club.

Doncaster Assistant Coach Brett Davey worked with Nathan when he was the Head Coach at the Midland's club and the opportunity for the two of them to work together again was one of the reasons why Jones said he was attracted to the Castle Park club.

Nathan played more than 40 games for Coventry in the Championship over the past three seasons in spite of missing a significant period of time due to a back problem that was eventually diagnosed as being due to a food intolerance. He then suffered a freak injury that put him back another couple of months.

26 year old Nathan represented England at Under 19 level whilst with Leicester Tigers Academy and has also played for England Counties.

Howells said he is looking forward to the competition between Nathan Jones and incumbent scrum half Chris Hallam for the No 9 shirt this coming season.

The Warriors have recruited former Bristol and Bath centre Alex Crockett for the new season on a two year deal.

Also joining the Sixways club is young prop Oliver Tomaszczyk from Oxford University.

The 23 year-old has previously been part of the Newcastle Falcons Academy and has played for Argentinean Division One side Lomas Athletic.
