Wednesday Touch Rugby Sessions

Two Gloucester players, former 'Pirate' Darren Dawidiuk (left) and England wing Tom Voyce, attended last Wednesday's touch rugby session at Hayle RFC.

The Cornish pair, who are enjoying their close season break, were part of a team mostly made up of current Redruth and Truro players who formed a side to take on locals boys from Hayle and Redruth U16s.

Surprisingly the younger quicker players of Redruth U16s managed to win most of their games, with the Reds/Truro combination coming in a close second.

Pirates community coach Leon Pohe, who for the past few weeks has been running the sessions, was very happy with last week's turnout, especially from the local boys who not only enjoyed the games but also gained experience playing.
