Pirates 'Masterclasses' Up & Running!

July 2009

The first of this summer's Cornish Pirates 'Masterclass' events has got underway , with budding young rugby players attending the Wadebridge Camels RFC venue during this past week.

Open to children aged 6 - 14 years, there are three further 'Masterclass' events taking place during the month at Penzance & Newlyn RFC (11-13th Aug), Camborne RFC (18-20 Aug) and Truro RFC 25-27 Aug).

Aaron Taylor and George Grieve - two of the Pirates most ardent and loyal 'Exiled' fans - are planning to take the Camborne 'Masterclass' by storm.

Hot-foot from the Northampton Saints Academy held at their Banbury club last week - where they steadfastly refused to wear the Saints branded apparel on offer! - the two lads now can't wait to get reacquainted with their Cornish brethren. Their dads hail from St Columb and Penzance respectively.

The boys are no strangers to West Cornwall rugby as they brought the Banbury U11s down on tour last season to play sides from Penzance & Newlyn, Camborne, Truro and Newquay.

The photo below shows the boys on the Saints course practicing some bizarre try-celebration routine that is apparently de-rigueur for aspiring Premiership players.

It is not too late to book into one of the three remaining 'Masterclasses', as limited spaces are still available. For further details and to book a space please telephone 01736-331961.
