Starting in September, the Cornish Pirates in conjunction
with the Cornish Pirates Learning Zone are planning to launch the Pirates 'Map
& Pack' to primary schools across Cornwall, which has real potential to benefit
children in the development of their skills in numeracy, literacy, geography and
ICT. Each school that responds will be provided with a
large poster for display in classrooms. The poster will
display a map of the British Isles & Ireland, highlighting places that the
Pirates will be playing, with spaces provided for pupils to record results and
list scorers. A pack of resources will provide information
including the provision of tips on how to maximise benefit from the pack, which
will also include the opportunity to address issues such as diversity, healthy
living and teamwork. Schoolchildren will be able to take
part in 'Ruggerart' and 'Press Pack' competitions etc., and along with teachers
they will be invited to a given Cornish Pirates match during the season. For
