Ever
wondered what the Pirates players do when they're not training? Well, some of
the squad use some of their valuable recovery time to visit Camborne and get 'grilled'
by schoolchildren attending a 10-week course at the Cornish Pirates Learning Zone's
CPR Learning Space. During this term the staff members have been grateful
for the attendance of Chris Morgan and Jimmy Moore who came to see them and were
interviewed by pupils from Trewirgie, Illogan, Kehelland, Penponds and Lanner
primary schools, plus Redruth and Pool secondary schools.

During the first week pupils research
the players using the club's excellent website, and they then use the information
provided to compile an interview. The players then attend a learning zone session
where the pupils 'grill' them. John Watson, teacher at the CPR Learning
Space commented: "To many, Camborne is a Pirates
stronghold and we have pupils who live, eat and sleep rugby. Some of the questions
are both in- depth and extremely mature and our thanks go to Chris and Jimmy for
giving up their valuable time - it helps the pupils make progress in their English
and literacy at school and really does make a difference!"
