End Of Season Awards Presented At THe 2010 Awards Evening & Dinner

This year's Awards presentation was a little different, with some presented after the Bristol match, and others presented at the Awards Evening & Dinner at Penwith College on Saturday night.

Once again the Pirates have again done a great deal in the community this past year, and Mike provides a fine example of the input importantly made by the players.

This was the third time in the past five years that this great ambassador and role model for younger players has won the award.

Alan is a player, a Pirates TV summariser, a youth section official, and more.

Gavin Cattle & Dicky Evans Tom Tree

Sportsman Of The Year Gavin Cattle

Since returning to the Pirates, Gavin has once again proved himself to be an inspirational player and captain.

He is also a true sportsman.

Clubman Of The Year Tom Tree

A youth section official for the past three years, Tom oversees the welfare of club members aged 6 to 18.

He monitors the roles of all adults watching, coaching and managing the section, and is always objective, calm and clear about what needs to be achieved.

This is a new award which Dave will feel justifiably honoured to receive, as gaining the respect of your fellow players really means a great deal.

A popular and deserved winner, Dave's play has been committed and magnificent all season, a ball carrier who's yardage gains must make interesting reading.

Monckton Cup For Achievement
The nominated winner of this trophy was unable to make the presentation evening, which will now be made at suitable future event.

At the end of the presentations Dicky Evans thanked Amy Smith for organising the successful event, and had special words of praise for Chris Stirling, the club's High Performance Manager, and his coaching colleagues.

The club's focus was now the British & Irish Cup Final to be played against Munster at Camborne on Sunday 16 th May (ko 6pm), which will hopefully provide another successful end of season celebration.
