'Pirates! Pirates!' Launch

At The Westholme Clubhouse
The launch of the eagerly awaited new book 'Pirates! Pirates!' will take place at the 'Westholme' clubhouse on Thursday 24th September.
This is an important event, and it is especially appropriate that Dicky Evans will be present to perform the official launch at 8.30pm.
after which ex player Steve Tomlin, who has compiled and written the magnificent book, will gladly sign copies – both for subscribers and for those purchasing copies (cost £19-99) on the night.
Journalist and radio commentator Dick Straughan, who has provided certain additional chapters, will also be in attendance, as will senior players such as club captain Gavin Cattle and Alan Paver.
'Pirates! Pirates!' will tell the full story of the club’s rise from its lowly position in the Western Counties League in 1995 to become a major force in National One - right up to the present day.
Copies of the book, which costs just £19-99, will be on sale at the launch, whilst 'Subscribers' who have already paid for their copies in advance can collect their copies on the night
'Pirates!, Pirates! is one of the most comprehensive books ever written about a British rugby club and covers every match throughout its successive promotions and National One history.
It also charts the momentous decision to leave Penzance and to become the Cornish Pirates, plus the moves to Truro and Camborne, the triumph at Twickenham and the contribution of its fantastic supporters.
A detailed record of all results, scorers and appearances is included – the book a ‘must get’ for all Cornish rugby supporters and indeed those of club rugby in general.
It should be emphasized that Steve and Dick are taking no money whatsoever from the project, so once artwork and printing costs have been recovered every penny will then contribute towards the future of the Cornish Pirates.
