Crista Cullen daughter of Hemingway’s boss Gary Cullen is a superstar but got a smack in the face in a test series against Argentina last week.
Christa is Captain of GB hockey and a Pirate in the true sense. Look out for her in a Pirates shirt over New Year
The BBC website reports:
Great Britain's intensive five-match tour of Argentina came to an end with a 3-1 loss on Friday which gave the hosts a 4-1 series victory.
The South Americans, ranked number two in the world, took a 3-0 lead in Salta.
But Crista Cullen, who was later taken to hospital after being hit in the face, got Britain on the scoresheet as they improved after half-time.
The hosts won the first three Tests before GB rallied to take the fourth Test 2-1 on Thursday.
GB coach Danny Kerry told the Great Britain Hockey website that the tour had "certainly been worthwhile".
"I have found out a lot about the players, such as who has the self-motivational skills required to play five intense matches in seven days," he added.
"I have discovered who can put in the performances, which will certainly help my thinking around selection as we progress towards the London 2012 Olympics."
