Paves Pops It For Clive (Luxlad)

Last Sunday's Pirates v Nottingham match not only provided a nine-try spectacle of entertainment, but also the added colour of two yellow cards and one red, plus TV drama too.

At half-time there was a marriage proposal announced through the tannoy system and on Pirates TV, when Alan Paver popped the question on behalf of supporter Clive Eich, to Clive's fiancee Clare.

The couple were watching the game with Dicky Evans and guests at Hemingways Resort, Kenya, where an alerted Clare listened with added interest when Alan appeared on screen.

Later, during the second half of the game, Phil Westren was delighted to announce to the crowd “that the pineapples were being served, as Clare had answered – YES!”
