
Young Cornish Talent

A number of Cornwall's most promising young players are being given the opportunity to train with the Cornish Pirates during half-term
Sam Matavesi - wing forward from the Camborne club, 18yr old Sam has played for Cornwall and the South West U18s.
Jordan Rose – wing forward, Jordan from Penryn. Aged 17, has also played for Cornwall and the South West U18s.
Rhys Salisbury – 17yr old Rhys is a lock forward from Redruth who has played for Cornwall U18s. .
Charlie Tokeley – a product of the Pirates mini-junior section, Charlie (CPF), aged 17, played for the South West at U16s level.
Sam, Jordan and Rhys presently attend Truro College, whilst Charlie is at Millfield School.
CEO Rod Coward commented on these talented young players training with the Cornish Pirates,
“This is a great opportunity for the players and for the Cornish Pirates and will hopefully go some way to ensuring that quality young players are retained within Cornwall.
Chris Stirling and the coaching staff are keen to repeat this initiative, which will enable us to forge closer links with the Truro College Academy.”
