Blue Cow Pie For Lunch
March 4th 2010
Following the morning training session on Tuesday, the players had a special treat awaiting them when they gathered for lunch at the 'Westholme' clubhouse in Penzance.
The players are always well fed, and on Tuesday it was a chance to sample an award winning pie made locally at the Fountain Inn, Newbridge.
A mix of Cornish blue stilton and prime Cornish hung chuck steak, topped with wateringly flaky pastry made it a winning combination, and it was certainly a hit with the Pirates players.
The Fountain Inn is a traditional pub that holds pie nights every Friday and the Blue Cow is the favourite by far.

Legendary pie creator, Dan Tibbins, commented:
“We’re so pleased to have such great support from the local community for this award, as we couldn’t have won without them, and who better to taste it than our very own Cornish Pirates rugby team!”
