Edinburgh-born Greg, aged 24, has played for Hawick in the Scottish Premier, was a member of the Border Reivers regional side, and also starred for Mounts Bay when he headed to the far south-west of Britain.

A former Scotland U18s, U19s and U21s international, he has also had a spell playing for Coventry this season.

Greg is a a number '9' who has an eye for making breaks by using his explosive pace – he has held the Highland Games 90m open sprint title and has also featured on the Scotland 7s circuit.

During his spell with Mounts Bay, Greg also helped with coaching the successful Truro College side, working alongside Robin Cowling and Ricky Pellow.

Commenting on the latest acquisition to the Cornish Pirates squad, the club's CEO, Rod Coward, said: “Greg was a stand out player with Mounts Bay and earlier this season had a spell with Coventry. He has been training with the Pirates and sufficiently impressed our coaching team to be given a playing contract.

The intention is that he will continue to train with us, but be loaned to Redruth to ensure he gets game time and will be called back should he be required to play for the Cornish Pirates. If Greg continues to develop it is likely he will be offered a further contract next season.”
