Matt Hopper Signs
May 4th 2010
The Cornish Pirates can confirm the signing of centre/full-back Matt Hopper, who is crossing the Tamar from derby rivals Plymouth Albion.
Aged 25, Matt joined Plymouth Albion in September 2008, having returned to England after playing a season for the Manly club in Australia.
A Devonian, he is the son of former Exeter captain Keith Hopper.
Commenting on the latest confirmed signing, CEO Rod Coward said: “Matt has clearly shown that he has the necessary skills to succeed in the Championship. We welcome him to the Pirates and believe he will excel in the environment, which Chris Stirling and the coaching staff are creating.”
