A New Career For Jimmy Moore

The Cornish Pirates have announced that utility back Jimmy Moore's ankle injury has not responded to treatment as both he and the club hoped and he has decided to give up his career in professional rugby.

Jimmy, his wife Clare and baby son Jake are to return to Lancashire, where he is going to pursue a new career in accountancy.

Cornish Pirates CEO, Rod Coward, commented: “The club greatly appreciates Jimmy's contribution during his time with the Pirates and he and his family leave with every good wish for the future.”

Joining the Cornish Pirates from Coventry in 2006, 27 years old Jimmy has proved himself a more than able kicker and try-scorer, playing 94 games for the Pirates.

Featuring often on the wing, he also played a number of games at both scrum-half and fly-half, and it was in the number 10 shirt that he performed a vital role back in 2007 when he slotted a magnificent match-winning drop goal in the quarter-final of the EDF Energy National Trophy away to Doncaster.

That was 'Moore's Moment', but there were many others along the way.
