SWS HONOURS FOR CAITLIN & EMMA

Young Cornish Talent

Caitlin Davy and Emma Bisson !
17th February 2010

Back in November the Cornish Pirates community development officer, Mike Crump, was asked to get involved with the women’s rugby regional programme, which is now up and running with the South West South U15s girls age group training every Sunday in Plymstock.

Matches for the girls are expected against two other regions, before travelling to Litchfield for the regional festival.

Two Pirates girls team players, Caitlin Davy and Emma Bisson, have not only made the county team, but have also been selected in the South West South squad.

Coach Mike Crump said:

“I put an U15s Pirates girls team together over a year ago, and since then we also now have an U18s squad.

Six girls went to county trials and training, with three of them representing Cornwall in fixtures.

Now to have Caitlin and Emma in the South West South squad puts the icing on the cake.”

The Pirates girls squad train at the Mennaye Field, Penzance, on Wednesdays from 4.15 / 5.30pm, and they expect to play matches against 11 teams during the next three months.
