During
the month of July, Year 7 and 8 students from Humphry Davy School were treated
to a rugby coaching session given by Cornish Pirates community coach Leon Pohe
and teacher Mr Ball. The session, which formed part of the students activities
day, lasted three hours and involved ball handling, communication, teamwork, and
loads of fun games, including finishing off with a 'Kiwi' style game of touch
rugby which the boys thoroughly enjoyed.
Overall
the students showed high levels of ability, as they undertook a number of drills
that are used by certain Premiership rugby teams. Also, their attitude towards
the session was brilliant and they all managed to learn something different and
gain new skills These sessions are open to all schools, clubs and individual
teams. For further details please contact Mike Crump, Cornish Pirates community
